During its Nov. 13, 2012 meeting, the City Council adopted the following changes to the City sign ordinance.
11-22-3: SIGN AREA AND HEIGHT:
B. Sign Height: Sign height is defined as follows:
1. Freestanding Sign: Sign height is the
distance from highest historic elevation of the ground surface directly below
the sign to the tallest point of the sign measured vertically from the top of
the sign, including all elements of the sign.
In the Commercial zones where a three foot high berm is required when
site parking is adjacent to the public street, the height shall be measured
from the height of the three foot berm beneath the sign location. When the ground elevation of the sign is
below public street level, the crown of the nearest public street shall become
the lowest point to measure the height of the sign.
