Jensen Floral has proudly served the Ogden area for over 90 years! Jensen Floral was established in 1923, at 1901 Washington Blvd, under the ownership of Pete and Mary Jensen. In the mid 70’s it was bought by Dick and Chris Montgomery, then later on bought by Bryon and Catherine Montgomery. The shop was then relocated to the Newgate Mall in 1983. In 1984, the shop was sold again to Marilyn and Dale Nye. After buying their home in Ogden in 1978, Marilyn went to work part time at Jensen Floral. She loved the flowers and enjoyed the work. She thought it would be fun to one day own a flower shop. One day in September, while working at the mall, the boss walked in and said, “Do you want to buy this place?” She said, “Sure, I’ll buy this place!” She was so excited! It was a dream come true. Jensen Floral remained in the mall until 1994 when part of the shop was needed to make room for Dillards.
After buying the shop and becoming established at the mall, Marilyn, having grown up in North Ogden wanted to open a second shop and serve the people where she had been raised. She has always loved North Ogden – the quiet beauty, majestic Ben Lomond, and the people she knew as a child. In 1992, she found a small spot in the North Ogden Plaza and they opened in April. They had two shops for two years and moved to the larger location (current location). They have been in North Ogden for 22 years and celebrating their 30th anniversary in business.
