Maria Montessori's 7th Grade Class spent a part of their day filling five new planting boxes at North Ogden's Common Ground Community Garden. They mixed the topsoil with a compost mix and added it to the boxes. The students spread mulch between the boxes and pulled weeds.
Common Ground is a community garden that was started three years after an old house that had been the site of drug use was torn down. Each garden is rented from the City and tended throughout the growing season. Groups such as the Maria Montessori's 7th Grade class help City crews to spruce up, clean up, repair and maintain the site each year.
