North Ogden City Receives the
Tree City USA Award
from the Arbor Day Foundation.
North Ogden City was designated as a Tree City USA for the seventh year in a row. The presentation was made by Utah State Forester and Director of Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands in a ceremony held at the Conservation Garden Park Education Center in West Jordan on April 16th.
The Tree City USA program recognizes cities for their excellence in urban forestry management. To qualify as a Tree City USA community, a city must create a tree board or department, adopt a tree care ordinance, implement a community forestry program with an annual budget of at least $2 per capita and observe Arbor Day.
In the past North Ogden has planted trees around the skate park, planted street trees and in 2013 planted cherry trees in honor of North Ogden's cherry heritage.

City Manager Ron Chandler, Parks and Recreation Director Tiffany Staheli and Park Supervisor Jesse Felter represented the City at the ceremony. Following the ceremony Chandler stated "We are so proud to receive this award. North Ogden has talented and dedicated employees who work hard to make life better in North Ogden and it's wonderful for them and the City to be recognized for their efforts."
