Good Samaritan Deed

On May 14th, 2013, Marijka Scothern called the North Ogden Police Department to report her 11 year old daughter had accidently left her purse containing her life savings, a one-hundred dollar bill, on a bench in front of the North Shore Aquatic Center.

Marijka called the police department on the afternoon of May 15th to report her daughter had gotten her purse back, including the contents.  The purse was discovered by two part-time employees from the Aquatic Center, Jordan Joy and Gabriel Madsen, while they were policing the grounds of the Aquatic Center on the afternoon of May 14th.  Jordan and Gabriel showed exemplary conduct by making sure the purse and its contents were returned to the rightful owner.

Jordan and Gabriel were presented with a certificate signed by Mayor Richard Harris and Chief of Police Kevin Warren, in appreciation for impeccable character and honesty displayed by returning lost money at the North Shore Aquatic Center.  Both City employees are the kind of individuals we covet to represent our great city.  Thank you Jordan and Gabriel, for your exemplary action of honesty.
